Parliament Square statues: have you seen them?

The other day I was walking from Victoria Street to Westminster.

Passed the abbey, I found myself in Parliament Square. Now that there are no more demonstrations, I had the opportunity to have a look at the statues unveiled here.

I think many people ignore them, more focused on seeing the Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and Houses of Parliament but i find them interesting because they are related to British history.

So, who do you see there?

You have a full range of Prime Ministers: Winston Churchill, David Lloyd George, Jan Smutts (PM for South Africa), Henry John Temple, Edward Smith-Stanley, Benjamin Disraeli, Robert Peel and George Canning.

Then you have “foreigners” that are somehow linked with British history: Abraham Lincoln, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.

Remember there is always something different in every angle in London!
